“The Uses of Existing Music: Musical Borrowings as a Field” by Peter Burkholder[1] Critical Analysis by Diego Barbosa-Vásquez Burkholder defines the musical borrowing field as the study of the different procedures that composers use to create their compositions based on previous melodies, tonal plans or structures.
